Course Description

Are you interested in engaging in specialized training on developing environments that support children in outdoor child-led, inquiry rich outdoor play in all kinds of weather and seasons? If so, this unique professional learning experience is for you. This program includes on-line and face-to-face training sessions including mentor support.
This training is designed for early childhood leaders who wish to develop facilitation skills on the theory of outdoor pedagogy and how theory is applied to outdoor spaces and children’s experiences in various early learning and childcare settings. Participants will examine effective facilitation strategies that incorporate theoretical knowledge. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) will be introduced in planning effective workshops and all participants will prepare components of an outdoor workshop.

The face-to-face sessions will occur in the communities of Kelowna, Penticton, Revelstoke, Salmon Arm and Vernon.
