Course Description

This course continues to explore the responsibilities of a radio host, including ethical considerations, propose new program ideas and produce original content for broadcasting.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Explain the responsibilities of a radio host in accordance with the Journalism Code of Ethics.
  2. Explain SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada) regulations and copyright infringement risks in radio broadcasting.
  3. Apply effective interview techniques to create dynamic and engaging conversations.
  4. List elements of well-structured scripts and proposals for radio programming
  5. Compare and operate different field recording tools, including handheld microphones and cell phone recorders.
