Course Description

This advanced course prepares students how to put their new show together for broadcast, either by pre-recording or going live, as well as the requirements needed by the CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) and SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada). Participants will gain hands-on experience using recording and or broadcasting equipment and software. Pre-requisites: Radio skills 101 and 102

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Describe the differences between live and prerecorded radio shows.
  2. Explain the basics of using a microphone, mixing board, and Audacity for recording and editing.
  3. Arrange key show elements like intros, outros, station IDs, and breaks.
  4. Complete log forms correctly, follow station rules, and maintain a professional approach while on-air and in the studio.
