Leadership in Action program
Program outline
The Leadership in Action program at Camp OC is designed to empower high school students by providing them with the tools to become confident, effective leaders. Over the course of the program, participants will engage in a range of interactive learning experiences that cover leadership fundamentals, conflict resolution skills, communication strategies, and teamwork dynamics.
By applying these skills in real-life camp activities in the classroom, participants will build their leadership abilities while receiving feedback, helping them reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement. This program offers a comprehensive foundation for students to become empowered leaders, ready to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
By the end of the program, participants will:
- Develop leadership qualities such as responsibility, integrity, and motivation.
- Enhance communication and collaboration skills through real-world practice.
- Set and achieve personal leadership goals using the SMART method.
- Lead youth games and activities to practice leadership.
- Learn conflict resolution strategies to address challenges effectively.
Choose Your Path to Leadership
- OPTION 1 (2 credits): In-Person Orientation, 12 hours of Coursework + 35 volunteer hours at Camp OC (1 week at camp)
- OPTION 2 (4 credits): In-Person Orientation, 12 hours of Coursework + 70 hours at Camp OC (2 weeks at camp)
