Course Description

This one-day workshop will be of interest to organic farmers, grape and tree fruit growers, nursery and greenhouse operations, as well as home gardeners. 
Information covered will range from composting basics to the preparation of high-quality compost. During the morning, participants will review composting do’s and don'ts as well as the steps necessary for producing compost that can naturally fight plant disease. The afternoon will focus on compost “recipes” specific to field production, greenhouses and home gardening.  The day will conclude with a review of the different methods used for testing finished compost.
