Course Description

For children and youth entering grades 4-6 & 7-9:

Build Her Up Camp is an empowering, hands-on program designed to inspire girls to explore exciting careers in the skilled trades. Over the course of this engaging camp, participants will learn to use tools, tackle creative projects, and develop practical skills in areas like carpentry, welding, electrical work, and more.

Led by industry professionals and mentors, this camp fosters confidence, teamwork, and a can-do attitude, showing girls that they have what it takes to succeed in traditionally male-dominated fields. Build Her Up Camp is not just about learning trades; it's about building futures, breaking barriers, and unlocking potential.

Perfect for girls who love creating, problem-solving, and discovering new possibilities, this camp is their first step toward becoming tomorrow's trailblazers in the trades!

*Please note that this camp exists to foster confidence in those who may not feel traditionally welcomed in trades environments. We encourage those who identify as girls or non-binary to sign up!

Payment and Registration:

Payment for camp is required at time of registration.

Registration must be completed online. You will need to pay with a VISA or MasterCard credit card or VISA or MasterCard credit debit card only.

Section Notes

Campers will participate in many different activities that focus on building and creating projects that combine carpentry, plumbing, and electrical. For safety reasons, campers are required to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants in the shop area. We also recommend wearing clothing that can handle a bit of a mess, as our camp adventures are hands-on and creative.

What to bring to camp

Closed-toed shoes and long pants are required in the trade shops.

Please pack a backpack that fits your child properly with the following items daily: 

A large water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. 

Clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and participation in physical activities outside. 

A nutritious lunch including 2 healthy snacks. Due to allergies, please do not include any nut butters or nut snacks. Campers will not be able to purchase food at camp and will not have access to the cafeteria or vending machines. 

Emergency supplies if applicable. E.g., mask, inhalers, medication for allergies etc. On the first day, let the staff know where the emergency supplies are in your child’s backpack. 

Please note: we recommend labeling all personal items. If items go missing, please check the Lost & Found. All unclaimed items will be disposed of at the end of summer. Our staff will do their best to help campers keep track of their items, however we will not be held responsible for any lost or broken items.
