The Battery Electric Vehicle Technology and Service course prepares Automotive Service Technicians (AST) to safely diagnose and service high-voltage electric vehicles. Red Seal certified ASTs or registered STBC AST third- or fourth-year apprentices can build on their previous understanding of conventional vehicle systems to develop skills in preparation for the exponential increase in electric vehicles on our roads. This course has a six-hour online self- paced module that must be completed in advance of the 30-hour classroom/shop training period.

Prerequisites

Prerequisite: Red Seal certified ASTs or registered ITA AST third- or fourth-year apprentices.

A valid Personal BCEID (basic will not work) or valid BC Service number is required to access the online exam. Please make sure this is set up prior to the start date as it can take up to a week to get validated.
