Course Description

The Battery Electric Vehicle Technology and Service course prepares Automotive Service Technicians (AST) to safely diagnose and service high-voltage electric vehicles. Red Seal certified Automotive Service Technicians and Heavy Duty (HD) Technician or registered SkilledTradesBC AST/HD third- or fourth-year apprentices can build on their previous understanding of conventional vehicle systems to develop skills in preparation for the exponential increase in electric vehicles on our roads.

This course includes a six-hours online, self-paced module that must be completed prior to the classroom/shop training period. An instructor will be available online on the Saturday before the course begins (the week prior to the Friday start date) to answer any questions related to the module. If you complete the module independently, attendance on that Saturday is not required.
