LAT 032 - BEVT 101 Battery Electric Vehicle Technology and Service
Course Description
The Battery Electric Vehicle Technology and Service course prepares Automotive Service Technicians (AST) to safely diagnose and service high-voltage electric vehicles. Red Seal certified Automotive Service Technicians and Heavy Duty (HD) Technician or registered SkilledTradesBC AST/HD third- or fourth-year apprentices can build on their previous understanding of conventional vehicle systems to develop skills in preparation for the exponential increase in electric vehicles on our roads.
This course includes a six-hours online, self-paced module that must be completed prior to the classroom/shop training period. An instructor will be available online on the Saturday before the course begins (the week prior to the Friday start date) to answer any questions related to the module. If you complete the module independently, attendance on that Saturday is not required.

This course is StrongerBC future skills grant eligible for dates starting between September 1 2024 - March 31 2025.

Prerequisites
Prerequisite: Red Seal certified ASTs or registered ITA AST third- or fourth-year apprentices.
A valid Personal BCEID (basic will not work) or valid BC Service number is required to access the online exam. Please make sure this is set up prior to the start date as it can take up to a week to get validated.
