Course Description

For CDAs and Dental Hygienists seeking their British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals Prosthodontic Module, this course offers convenient online theory with tutor support. Theory sessions will be followed by an examination, a weekend clinic at our Kelowna campus, and a competency checklist completed by your sponsoring dentist. Successful students are eligible to apply for BCCOHP Prosthodontic designation.

Prerequisites

1. Download the Sponsoring Dentist Information and Agreement Forms 

Important: You must make sure to download the below two documents and provide them to the sponsoring Dentist. 
  • Download the Sponsoring Dentist Information form here: Sponsoring Dentist Information Form
  • Download the Sponsoring Dentist / Participant Agreement form here: Sponsoring Dentist Agreement Form
  • Bring both documents to the sponsoring Dentist and have them sign the Agreement Form
  • Upload the signed Sponsoring Dentist / Participant Agreement form to your InspirED Student Portal under My Files

2. Proof of a practicing license as a Certified Dental Assistant or Dental Hygienist with the BCCOHP. 

Important: During the checkout phase you will be asked to upload your BCCOHP Certificate, this is a requirement in order to checkout and enroll.

3. Proof of sponsorship with a sponsoring dentist until successful completion of this course. Students will return from the clinical sessions held at OC to their sponsoring dental office and perform delegated prosthodontic procedures that must be checked and signed off by their sponsoring dentist and submitted to their module tutor for completion.

4. One year experience of practical CDA experience is strongly recommended.
